There are plenty of opportunities to sample what the locals like during the “Silly Season”, the week
Before/After Ferragosta on 15th August each year. Or during one of the Religious Processions or Festivals at
Easter or various times during the year.
Castel Di Ieri ROCK NIGHTS was the “Must Do” evening for many years but
has taken a rest in 2022. Whether it will return in the future we will have to
see?
Look out for other good Concerts in local villages - Secinaro, Castelvechio,
Rocca Di Mezzo, Popoli or Sulmona. Look for Posters around each village or
visit the Tourist Information in Sulmona/Rocca Di Mezzo for details as you
plan your visit.
Normally free to watch but show your support by buying raffle tickets or
eating their food and having a drink or two!

Note: If you want Strings or Music Equipment, try “FG Music” in Sulmona …. Not much English spoken but very helpful and they are
always patient enough to wait while you use your Google Translater or struggle with your Italian. They are also very supportive of the local
music scene and will point you in the right direction. If you are a musician you can also book a Studio for practice at an excellent rate.

Local Shops around Secinaro
Secinaro: Around the Piazza area there is a General Groceries Shop; down the hill a little there is a
Butchers on the Right and a General Shop/Cigarettes on the Left …. Up the hill above the small Church is
Antonio’s small Supermarket, which is as good as the large Supermarkets for fresh cut meats etc for
Anti Pasta!
Half-Day Closing in Secinaro is on Thursday afternoons
