This is the “Silly Season” with Festivals & Concerts
EVERYWHERE and in most Villages .... August 15th is a
national holiday. Marking the Feast of the Assumption. It’s
origins are religious but in recent years it has simply become
the most important public holiday of the summer season.
Most people take extra time off work and head out of the
town to the holiday resorts.

the forgiveness granted by Pope St. Peter Celestine V, to the
famous Peter of Angelerio, the hermit of Monte Marrone who
