If you want to have your first lesson(s) or brush up on your skiing in England before you go .... there are two good ones within a short drive of Barnet (North London) where we live, but check your own area for the most suitable for you: Welwyn - Gosling Sports Park (Dry Ski Slope) This will be the cheaper of the two and is a 52-acre sports and leisure complex including 160m Dry Slope and a 70m Training Slope for skiing and snowboarding. We found this great to practice using the elevator (between the legs style) which you will encounter at the Campo Felice beginner slopes in Abruzzo, Central Italy. Directions: Leave the A1 North at Junction 4, the one after the Hatfield Tunnel, turn Right back over the A1 and then at the Roundabout turn Left on the A6129 to the next Roundabout, then 2nd Exit following signs to the Gosling Sports Centre which is off to your Right after a short drive.
