Olive Oil - Loreto Apertino Museums

From Secinaro, take the A25 Autostrada towards Pescara, go off Left at Chieti towards Penne until you see signs to Loreto
Apertino. There you will find a nice little is a nice little Olive Oil Museum, together with a nearby Ceramics Museum (which
you need to visit first to pickup your tickets/ Engish Speaking Guide). After visiting the two museums you can have a nice
meal in the town and visit the Church of Chiesa Di S.Maria in Piano which is worth going inside
The wealth of the small town of Loreto Apertino was built up due to the production of its
high-grade olive oil and you can follow its’ history with your guided tour of the museum.
The Olive Oil Museum is “Worth a drizzle” as the Life in Abruzzo Web Site says

At the Ceramics Museum (Museo Acerbo delle Ceramiche di Castelli) you
can take in a history of the Castelli ceramics and how/where they were
made. The entry fee includes a short, self-guided tour that takes about 30-
40 minutes total with a handheld audio guide in English (other langages
available too).
Your entry fee will include a tour of the Olive Oil museum which is close by.
The museums are open Tuesday to Sunday (9.30-12.30/17.00-19.00)
Finally, you can visit the Church of Chiesa Di S.Maria in Piano with its’ stark beauty on the outside but with amazing frescos
to see inside.
Agriverde Vineyard/Olive Oil Groves (near Pescara)
Agriverde farm is 250 metres above the sea level and has a vineyard and olive
groves.
Take the A14 Adriatic motorway, Ortona exit and then the Maruccina State Road
for 5 Km in the Orsogna direction. At Villa Caldari follow signs for Agriverde.
