Walk JS2 - Secinaro to Cross2
Difficulty T (3hrs) Start=Secinaro Piazza but then drive out of the village, go Left down the hill then Left again as you
see the small cross on the bend. Then drive along the valley road (not very well made by the way) and park up when
you see the large church up on the hill on your left. Your path is on the opposite side as in the first photograph.
This is a longer walk than Cross1 to the small Cross2 (still illuminated at night) which you can see in the distance from
outside il bar in the piazza.
We made this one last about 3 hours with Photo Stops, Picnic at the top and sheltering from the rain/thunder &
lightening before we started the return journey! (Scary) .... and let that be a warning to take your Plastic Mac, Sun Tan
Cream and Walking Sticks even on a so-called easy walk!
At Easter, this is the cross which is visited by the religious procession bearing a cross carried from the Catholic Church
in the village on a round trip up to Cross2 and back to the Church.
Once you have done the walk, you can look over in the right direction at night from outside Il Bar in the Piazza in
Secinaro and wonder how you ever missed it!
