Walking …. TRIED AND TESTED
These are walks we have done on our own and documented for your enjoyment: Walk JS1: “Secinaro Cross1” (Croce Di San Marco) Difficulty T/E (2hrs) Start=Secinaro Piazza or drive up and park near the small/large church This is the large Cross (no longer illuminated) which you can see on approaching the village. It can easily (except if you walk up from the Piazza) be reached by continuing upwards from the small/large church at the top of the hill. For an easier walk, drive up for parking near the small/large church (You can, in fact, keep driving right up to the cross if you just want to take in the views)
Walk JS2: “Secinaro Cross2” Difficulty E (3hrs) Start=Secinaro Piazza The second Cross is more difficult to see from the village, unless it is illuminated at night, then you will wonder how you missed it! At Easter, this is the cross which is visited by the religious procession bearing a cross carried from the Catholic Church in the village on a round trip up to Cross2 and back to the Church.

Croce Di San Marco Looking down on the Village
Which is illuminated and can be seen from the Village at night
Walk JS3: “Secinaro to Chalet Del Sirente” Difficulty T/E (4½ hrs) Start=Secinaro Piazza then you have choices on which way to go but my favourite is to walk down from the statue in the Piazza to the Arches and head down to the “Low Road” along the bottom. All routes will end up at the Chalet Del Sirente where you can take refreshments in summer or have your Picnic.
Open throughout the Summer
Arriving at the Small Cross
Chalet Del Sirente
Start of the walk
Walk down and then through the Arches
Walk JS4: “Rovere Angel Statue” Difficulty E (2½ Hours) Start=Rovere Car Park on the Left as you come from Secinaro This is a “staight up” walk I’m afraid but it’s on a good path/road so not too bad if you pace yourself. Picnic at the top or visit one of the Cafes down the bottom.
Worth the walk up
The Angel Statue at Rovere
Walk JS5: “Sirente Mountain” (Easy Walk Around The Base) Difficulty E (4 Hours) Start=From the Chalet Del Sirente Car Park, then it is a “staight up” walk on not so good rocky path to the Right Side of the Chalet Del Sirente! But once you are up to the top in, in less than half an hour, it levels out and is a nice gentle circular walk around the base of the Sirente Mountain.
Open throughout the Summer
