Walk JS5 - Sirente Mountain (Easy Walk Around The Base)

Difficulty E (4 Hours) Start=From the Chalet Del Sirente Car Park, then it is a “staight up” walk on not so good rocky path to the Right Side of the Chalet Del Sirente! But once you are up to the top, in less than half an hour, it levels out and is a nice gentle circular walk around the base of the Sirente Mountain.

Starts at the Chalet Del Sirente

Up the path on the Right of the Chalet

Go Left at the top as it levels out

Coming out into the open

Through the gate and go to the right

A variety of wild flowers in Summer

Stop at the Refuge Hut

Take a Rest, Picnic or BBQ

Take the Reurn Track down from the Refuge Hut

Circle back round at the lower level

Until you come back to the gate

Back down through the trees

Safely back at Chalet Del Sirente

Difficulty T/E (2hrs) Start=Secinaro Piazza This is the large Cross (no longer illuminated) which you can see on approaching the village. It can easily (except for the hard walk up from the Piazza) be reached by continuing upwards from the small/large church at the top of the hill. For an easier walk, you can drive up for parking near the small/large church (You can, in fact, keep driving right up to the cross if you just want to take in the views)
